After a lengthy, but useful orientation, bike and helmet checks and a group photo we began our journey. Oyee!
The route was scenic and flat, other than the bridge crossings. Drivers were courteous and the headwind wasn’t too bad.
We had a welcome rest stop at a park right on the gulf. Beautiful!!
Everyone arrived safely at our host church, Lagoon Baptist. Volunteers prepared a delicious dinner of lasagna and salad, along with tasty desserts!
Every day has surprises and today’s surprise was having the car of one of our riders towed from a lot that supposedly we were allowed to use! Fortunately it was retrieved and the four other cars there were able to be moved before they got towed as well!!
We had a relaxing evening, with time to chat and get to know each other.
All in all, a great day and a fantastic start to our Gulf Coast adventure!
