There’s this new EP that you’ve got to listen to. It is a collaboration project between Tokyo-based duo Otomodatchi (Japanese singer Amiide & US rapper Jyodan) and Japanese producer Chocoholic (a.k.a. Miyuki Kudo).
Titled Don’t Stop The Beat, the EP arrived with a blissful title track which is reminiscent of SHIMA. The title track is a bouncy and groovy indie-dance cut combining elements from hip hop, R&B and electronic music. With its upbeat and contagious melody, “Don’t Stop The Beat” is simply irresistible — all you want to do it sing along and dance along to the track’s infectious rhythms.
The EP was preceded by the singles “Energy” and “Dancing in the Rain”. Having listened to the whole thing, I’m beyond impressed by the artists’ collective ability to make songs that listeners can actually vibe to.
