The NWS has issued a new cold weather advisory for all of northern Alabama, which is in effect from 12am until 10am CT Friday. Very cold temperatues are expected. Here are the details from the NWS:

For the second Cold Weather Advisory Friday morning, very cold wind chills as low as 1 below expected. * WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Alabama and southern middle Tennessee. * WHEN...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, from midnight tonight to noon CST Thursday. For the second Cold Weather Advisory, from midnight Thursday Night to 10 AM CST Friday. * IMPACTS...Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.
