Jigokuraku: Hell’s Paradise Season 2 Announced For January 2026 Premiere


The highly anticipated second season of the anime adaptation of Yūji Kaku’s “Jigokuraku: Hell’s Paradise” manga has been officially announced, with a premiere date set for January 2026. The announcement came during the Jump Festa ’25 event, accompanied by a new promotional video.

The continuation of the dark fantasy adventure follows the story of Gabimaru, a former ninja tasked with finding the elixir of immortality. The first season, produced by MAPPA, captivated audiences with its intense action and compelling characters.

 

Jigokuraku: Hell’s Paradise Season 2 Production Details

Returning to direct the second season is Kaori Makita (Twittering Birds Never Fly: The Clouds Gather), with MAPPA handling animation production. Twin Engine is credited for planning. Akira Kindaichi (To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts) will again handle series composition, while Akitsugu Hisagi (Kids on the Slope) returns for character design, and Yoshiaki Dewa (The Aquatope on White Sand) will compose the music. Ayako Suenaga returns as color designer.

Changes to the staff include Chika Toda (Jujutsu Kaisen season 2) taking over as director of photography, replacing Hyo Gyu Park. Junichi Higashi (Fairy gone) will step in as the new art director, replacing e-caesar.

Additionally, Ryōta Suzuki has been announced to voice the character of Yamada Asaemon Shugen, who made a brief appearance in the first season’s finale.

 

Recap of the First Season and Manga

The first season of “Jigokuraku: Hell’s Paradise” premiered in April 2023, airing on TV Tokyo and its affiliates. The series is available for streaming on Crunchyroll in North America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, and on Netflix in Asian-Pacific countries (excluding Australia, New Zealand, and China). Crunchyroll also offers an English dub.

Jigokuraku: Hell's Paradise Manga

Yūji Kaku’s original manga launched on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website and app in January 2018 and concluded in January 2021, spanning 13 volumes. Viz Media released the manga digitally through its Shonen Jump service and in print, while Shueisha also made it available on its MANGA Plus platform.

 

Streaming Confirmation

Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the second season of “Jigokuraku: Hell’s Paradise” as it airs in Japan.

 

Other Adaptations

The “Jigokuraku: Hell’s Paradise” franchise has also seen stage play adaptations, with the second stage play, “Hell’s Paradise -Tsui no Shō-,” having run in Tokyo and Kyoto in February.
