You name the publication, from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bonappetit.com\/recipes\/slideshow\/a-day-in-the-life-of-austin-restaurant-franklin-barbecue-s-aaron-franklin-a-bbq-genius?slide=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bon Apetit<\/a> to Texas Monthly to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodandwine.com\/articles\/best-bbq-pit-masters-and-grill-geniuses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Food &amp; Wine<\/a> to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2011\/06\/19\/us\/19ttpatoski.html?_r=2&amp;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Times<\/a>) and Franklin&#8217;s Franklin Barbecue has probably been heralded as one of the top BBQ joints in America, if not the top BBQ joint in America. If you want to talk about influence over eating, Franklin has so much influence over the taste buds of his customers that they will wait in line for hours in hopes that they arrived early enough to reach the meat counter before the SOLD OUT sign goes up on the door. Perhaps the most remarkable part of this success story is that Franklin opened his restaurant in 2009 and obtained his status as one of BBQ&#8217;s few celebrity chefs in only a few years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-7530\" alt=\"franklin-bbq\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0248\/9646\/files\/blog_franklin-bbq-1024x766.jpg?9701153051138166365\" width=\"574\" height=\"429\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Franklin gained even more notoriety on Destination America&#8217;s hit TV show <a href=\"http:\/\/america.discovery.com\/tv-shows\/bbq-pitmasters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BBQ Pitmasters<\/a>, where he joined Myron Mixon and Tuffy Stone as a judge. Franklin opted to retire as a full-time judge on BBQ Pitmasters in 2013 to focus more on his restaurant and other projects.
