TDS or Trump Derangement Syndrome is an interesting malady. It\u2019s a diagnosis that is applied to anybody who disagrees with Donald Trump, let alone loathes and despises him. And maybe that makes sense on a certain level. Think of it this way. Trump is the charismatic cult leader and you\u2019re either all in for him, no matter how insane he is, or you suffer from TDS and you\u2019re the enemy. There is no centrist position. And so now the enemy is Elon Musk. Fascinating. What will be more fascinating is if Musk decides to hold fast to his declaration that he\u2019s going to \u201cfire\u201d any Republicans who vote for the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.<\/p>\n

And it gets more comical still. Musk has unfollowed Stephen Miller. Whether that\u2019s because he\u2019s schtupping Miller\u2019s wife, we do not pretend to know. What we do know is that politics makes for strange bedfellows and it looks like Musk has decided to get under the covers with us. Hey, if he wants to destroy the OBBBA and if he wants to go after Republicans in 2026, I can make room. Just don\u2019t eat any crackers, Elon, okay?\u00a0Daily Beast: <\/a><\/p>\n
\nI\u2019ll be honest\u2014I don\u2019t care who\u2019s schtupping who. I don\u2019t care if\u00a0Glenn Greenwald<\/a>\u00a0has a sex tape. I don\u2019t care that Sen.\u00a0Joni \u201cWe are all going to die\u201d Ernst<\/a>\u00a0allegedly\u00a0slept with an Air Force general<\/a>\u00a0lobbying her committee. Or that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene allegedly had an affair with her Crossfit instructor\u2014and, as\u00a0The Daily Mail<\/i><\/a>\u00a0described him, a \u201ctantric sex guru.\u201d I don\u2019t care that Corey Lewandowski and Sec. Kristi Noem, both married, have allegedly\u00a0been carrying on<\/a>\u00a0a very public dalliance<\/a>. And I don\u2019t care who Rep. Lauren Boebert is\u00a0fondling<\/a>\u00a0at any given cultural institution. I support folks getting freaky in the style and manner of their choosing. It\u2019s none of my business and I shouldn\u2019t even be writing about it.<\/p>\n
Except that it\u2019s so damned funny.<\/p>\n
These people, these grotesque MAGA tryhards worshipping at the feet of their adulterer-in-chief, deserve whatever mockery is heading their way. Not because it\u2019s an effective political ploy. Not because doing so will make a single American\u2019s life any better. But because, while they have no shame, they hate being laughed at. Hate it.<\/p>\n
Which is why you can shoot all of that stuff straight into my veins. And sure, put some of\u00a0that Covid-killing bleach<\/a>\u00a0in too\u2014at this point I\u2019m here for all of it.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m here for these pompous gasbags getting lit up for their lies and hypocrisy. I\u2019m here for the jokes the Millers and Musk will be enduring from late-night comics, just as I was a ready and willing participant in the\u00a0\u201cJD Vance diddles couches\u201d<\/a>\u00a0discourse that brought some much-needed comic relief to a grim presidential campaign.<\/p>\n
Can we say with full confidence Vance never went full hillbilly elegy on a sofa crack? I mean, he has never outright denied it. Can we say for sure that this West Wing polycule is just the stuff of nightmares? To date, neither Musk nor the Millers have commented either. We just don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
What we do know is that this schism between Musk and Trump isn\u2019t doing Trump\u00a0 or the Republicans any good. And that was foreseeable. But the Republicans refuse to look at it, because the only way they\u2019re surviving the Era of Trump is to pretend that everything is the way it was before Trump and not cobblestones in the road to the destruction of the party.<\/p>\n
We don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to happen in 2026 and at this point it\u2019s too early to hazard a guess. But with Musk going for Republican throats it is possible that the Senate could be retaken by Democrats. Not saying it\u2019s probable, but it has moved into the plausible column. Musk is out for blood.<\/p>\n
