Call for Submissions: Community Zine Project
This summer The Workshop at Palatine Library is doing a community art project where participants of all ages and skill levels are invited to create and share Zines to help build a diverse collection of stories and artwork. This is part of their Maker in Residence series and a celebration of their 5th year being open. All contributions will bloom into our “Zine Garden” exhibition, that will be available to browse by the public through September, and then periodically put back up around the library seasonally. To contribute
- If you’re local to the Palatine, IL area, you can drop-in to create one or attend one of the many Zine Programs to learn new techniques and make alongside others.
- If you’re not local you can email your submission to [email protected] for us to print and fold.
Not sure what to make your zine about? Choose a theme below to kickstart your zine project:
- Book Buddies. Share how your favorite book characters inspired you.
- 250th of America / Roots and Heritage. Share a family tradition, cultural influence, or local history story.
- Nature’s Canvas. Draw or write about your favorite flowers, busy bees, and winding vines.
- Me on the Map. Share about your favorite neighborhood spots in town or your own personal journey.
