Dee, Jack, Linda, and Paige arrived at First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula, Mississippi well before “lights on”.
We woke to the smells of home-baked biscuits, bacon, sausage gravy, grits seasoned to perfection—an entire symphony of smells and the best kind of morning alarm.
We circled up on the side of the church for an inspiring devotion offered by Brenda. All the while, we were being watched — little hands gripping the chain link fence bordering the playground with curious faces, and wide-open eyes watching and listening to all the cyclists in their bright orange jerseys and funny shoes.
With happy bellies we mounted our two-wheeled companions and rolled out to embrace the day, the challenge, the beauty, and the unknown.
As representatives of this unique, far reaching and life changing organization, we know our actions are making impressions on future FCBA cyclists.
The big ones who smile, honk, wave, and inquire about who we are and what we are doing and the little ones quietly witnessing our antics while dreaming about someday riding their two-wheeler.
