Since the days of the Egyptian Pharaohs and the ancient Greeks, electricity has been used for healing and fighting disease. A lot of this was lost during the dark ages of European history but resurfaced in the 1700’s.
There are a number of individuals who brought this back into popular knowledge. Among these was John Wesley who published “The Desideratum, or Electricity Made Plain and Useful” in 1760. Previously, In 1747 he published “Primitive Physick, or an Easy and Natural Way of Curing Most Diseases”, which was a very successful pamphlet addressed to the lay public that contained a list of over nine hundred recipes for medical remedies and practical directions on how to cure a large number of disorders.
Also, in 1746, Wesley opened several dispensaries both in London and in Bristol to provide free and inexpensive services to the poor and needy. Ten years later as he developed interest in electric healing, he also began to offer free electrical treatments. The medical industry did not like the idea that he was offering cheap healing for the masses so he was charged with practicing medicine without a license but the case was thrown out, basically because electricity was not being used by medical professionals of the day.
From the 1870’s to the 1930’s, there was a significant up-welling of the use of medical electric devices until medical interests stepped in and had them pulled from the market under the threat of “practicing medicine without a license”. There was a variety of electromedical equipment that disappeared for the public eye although many people kept these in secret. Today, there are hundreds of these machines still in existence despite the efforts of the AMA, FDA, and the FTC to confiscate and destroy them. These range from the “Rife Machine” to the “Medical Electric Battery” to the Violet Ray machine and the :Multi-Wave oscillator” among many others.

Today, there are forms of these types of machine available but each having extensive technological restraints making them available for single purpose uses. As examples, there are TENS units that are made for easing pain, MENS units made for stimulating muscles, Bone growth simulators, etc. Each of these requires a prescription. There are also wound healing devices available.
However, the devices that are used to destroy cancer have been kept from the market in favor of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Also suppressed are the electric devices that appear to be helpful in fighting bacterial sepsis, viral illness, and other microbial based illness.
It is a real shame that 59000 people die horrible deaths, mostly children, each year because there is no treatment available than can be afforded in the third world countries where these infections are so frequent. Imagine the possibility that just 10 percent of these lives could be saved using safe mild electric pulses. Imagine that 50 percent could be saved, or even 90 percent could be saved. We may never know because the medical industry refuses to even consider these products. This despite the fact that they are safe, convenient, and easy to use and have been shown to readily destroy microbes in water based environments.
