Shared Coast Dwellers : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
The beer poured out a light golden straw colour with a finger’s worth of frothy white head on top. That same head left thick streaks down the side of the glass throughout drinking.
The aroma was a mixed one – part lager base, part IPA nose. The hops brought a distinct dankness to the nose which segued into a citrus bouquet. The malts were snappy and sweet, though they didn’t last long on the nose.
The body started off with a swift, bitter base that lingered throughout drinking. Alongside this was the dank, resinous note found in the nose, combined with a citrus note that just laid under the surface. The citrus notes were made of grapefruit and lemon, balanced nicely against the dry body. It was a refreshing beer to have though at 7%, it was much easier drinking and lighter than I thought it would be.
Shared Coast Dwellers : The Bottom Line
A solid, well made India Pale Lager that is to style from start to finish.
