This isn’t our first review of a celebrity backed spirit and it probably won’t be our last. And we’re fine with that. As long as it’s goooooooood!
The subject of today’s video is a Florida Straight Bourbon Whiskey called Rolling Rooster which is made at Florida’s St. Augustine Distillery, and the celebrity whose name is on the bottle is Florida’s very own JJ Grey of JJ Grey and Mofro.
Here are a few words about Rolling Rooster:
Inspired by JJ Grey’s deep-rooted connection to the South and his love for the soulful flavors of home, Rolling Rooster is a bourbon that personifies the spirit of Southern comfort. “Warm and fuzzy at the top, with a tiny hint of cocoa before it spreads out wide across the palate,” Grey described, “No matter how far I travel, it always brings me back home.” Richard deMontmollin, VP of Production at St. Augustine Distillery, echoed Grey’s sentiments, stating, “When I was asked if we could create a bourbon with JJ Grey, I was over the moon. JJ brought the soul, we brought the juice, and it’s all in perfect harmony.”
We listened to a bit of JJ Grey and Mofro before embarking on this review. The music was quite good with a healthy dose of southern-style funk. To find out if this whiskey is as good (and funky!) as the music, click play on the following video:
