(CHICAGO, IL, 3/3/25) – The Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) today called on state and federal law enforcement authorities to investigate racist vandalism targeting a business in Ogle County as a hate crime.
The owner of a motorcycle detail and repair shop in Kings, Illinois, says he plans to close the business after “Die N**gers” and “Leave” was spray-painted on a garage.

“This reported act of racist intimidation must be investigated as a hate crime by state and federal law enforcement authorities, and the perpetrators brought to justice,” said CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab. “Unfortunately, this act of hate is symptomatic of the rising bigotry targeting minority communities we are seeing nationwide.”
He noted that earlier this year, CAIR-Chicago condemned the reported racist phone calls targeting a Mexican restaurant in North Center, echoing similar harassment seen in 2016 following the inauguration of President Trump.
