You may know ostriches for their fast running skills. But did you know ostriches can also roar like a lion?
Male ostriches make loud, deep booming calls when defending their territory or attracting mates. The sound carries long distances and is often mistaken for a lion’s roar!
They make these sounds by inflating a special sac in their long necks with air.
