If you know, you know. And if you don’t, well, now you do. Welcome back to my Neighborhood Highlight series, where we take a moment to explore Fort Worth’s best spots and break down what makes each area worth considering. Today’s spotlight: The River District.
And yes, before you ask, the Trinity River does, in fact, run through this neighborhood. With multiple trail access points, scenic waterfront apartments, and an overall dog-friendly, outdoorsy vibe, this is a prime location for those who love to mix convenience with a little fresh air.
So, Would I Live Here?
Short answer: Yeah, I do. (like i currently live here rn)
Not only do I live here, but I can confidently say that one of the best parts of the River District is how close it is to other Fort Worth hotspots. When I need a quick Uber to Downtown or West 7th, I’m typically looking at a $10 to $20 ride, which is something to keep in mind because, trust me, when patio weather hits (not today, but soon), you’re going to want a solid plan in place.

Why Does That Matter?
Well, Downtown and West 7th are home to some of the best restaurants, shopping, and nightlife in Fort Worth, think Blue Sushi, Terry Black’s BBQ, Wicked Butcher, and more. If I’m heading toward West 7th, my go-to route is White Settlement Rd, which takes me straight to Montgomery Plaza. If you prefer a more local route, take Camp Bowie all the way down to west 7th and you’ll run into gems like Indigo Yoga, Grow, and more.
Head west of the River District, and you’ll hit Westworth and Ridgmar, where you’ll find plenty of shopping centers and convenient chain restaurants. It’s nice to have options, whether you need quick Target run or a Chick-fi-la drive through
The River District Glow-Up
Right now, the River District is going through a bit of a glow-up if you will. New spots like Heim BBQ, and Crystal Springs Hideaway are popping up, alongside new apartment buildings on the way making this area even more high value. But even with all the new developments, it still manages to maintain a quaint, well-rounded vibe.

One Last Thing…
Do. Not. Speed. Here. Seriously. The cops do not play when it comes to enforcing speed limits, so take it easy unless you want to make an unexpected donation to the city of Fort Worth.

That’s the rundown on the River District, what do you think? Let me know your thoughts, and stay tuned for the next Neighborhood Highlight!
