FREE Studying the Life of Samuel, Part 3 – Christian Children’s Authors
Sometimes, it feels like we’ve made too many poor choices for God to stay with us. Surely, there must be a limit to His love. Time and again, throughout the history of Israel, God has demonstrated that this is a lie. He will be faithful, even when we are not. He will love us, no matter what. And He will forgive us, even when we have to face the consequences of our choices. Help your preteens and teens explore these truths and more with this next unit about the lives of Samuel and Saul.
Saul’s story is full of ups and downs, highs and lows. God used him to lead a rescue of the people of Jabesh Gilead, but he later offered a burnt offering Samuel had specifically told him not to do. He refused to allow the people to kill those who opposed his kingship but later ordered his own son to be killed for disobeying an order his son knew nothing about. There is much we can learn from the life of Saul and from the interactions he had with Samuel. This resource leads preteens and teens through I Samuel 11-15 with activities that encourage them to carefully read and consider what God has to say. It challenges them to consider God’s faithfulness to Israel, think about times they’ve been tempted to take credit for something God has done, and see what they can learn from the life of Saul. It also includes activities such as memorizing key verses, solving a word puzzle, summarizing what they have studied, and more.
