iOS 18.4 Beta 1 New Features, Changelog And Release Notes


Here’s iOS 18.4 beta 1 for iPhone new features, changelog and release notes that you as an iPhone user may need to know about.

As you may already know by now, after a slight delay, Apple has finally flipped the switch and released the first beta of iOS 18.4 to developers.

iOS 18.4 seems to be loaded with many new features, and while it doesn’t bring with it third-wave of Apple Intelligence features and revamped Siri 2.0, it still includes a lot to write home about for iPhone and iPad users.

Here’s a list of all the changes that we have so far noticed as new in iOS 18.4 beta 1:

  • Ambient Music option in Control Center: Sleep, Chill, Productivity, and Wellbeing
  • Apple News+ Food with recipes
  • Priority Notifications as part of Apple Intelligence
  • New Image Playground style: Sketch
  • New languages support for Apple Intelligence: French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (simplified)
  • Apple has significantly enlarged the Genmoji button in the emoji keyboard. Additionally, a new popup appears the first time you use the feature, informing you, “Create your own original emoji to add to Messages or use as a sticker.”
  • You can now set a default Translate app in the United States and other countries. In the European Union, there’s also support for setting a default Navigation app.
  • iOS 18.4 introduces a new feature to the CarPlay interface, adding a third row of app icons on the Home screen. However, this update is limited to specific car models.
  • Mail app in iPadOS gets on feature parity with iOS.
  • The Photos app now features a new interface for editing your Albums list.
  • Apple has introduced new Library and Shows widgets from the Podcasts app.
  • The Japanese “My Number Card” Digital ID is set to be integrated into Apple Wallet in iOS 18.4.
  • “Camera App” portion of the Camera Control gets its own menu in Settings app.
  • Two new Australian voices for Siri.
  • New Shortcuts actions for the Messages app: “Open Conversation” and “Send Message”
  • New Age Range during setup has been added.
  • New Apple Vision Pro app coming to iPhone in iOS 18.4.
