UK rap duo Krept & Konan have announced that they are opening an “inclusive” supermarket in Croydon, catering to Black, Asian and ethnic communities.
Saveways will feature 15,000 sq. ft of space, with produce from across the world, an in-store bakery, counters for halal meat and fish, and cosmetics including Afro hair and beauty products. It will open on February 1.
The pair, who have announced a new album set to release on February 7, Young Kingz II, as well as performing at the 2025 MOBO Awards on February 8, are teaming up with Kaysor Ali on the venture.
Commenting on the launch, Krept & Konan said: “It’s an honour for us to partner up on this venture.
“We are all about representation in the community and finding solutions, we are all from underrepresented communities so this is a perfect partnership,” they continued. “Saveways is game-changing for our community and we are excited to bring this vision to life.”
Kaysor Ali said: “Together, we’ve combined our skills, networks and passion to create a supermarket experience that not only serves the community but sets a new standard for quality, inclusivity and excellence in the UK food retail space.”
He added: “This partnership has allowed Saveways to become more than just a supermarket, it’s a statement of culture, unity and progress for our communities.”
