There’s a new tune making waves among fans of dance/pop music, and it feels like summer has come early. “Rebellion” is the result of the recent collaboration between Dutch-Moroccan DJ/producer R3HAB, Irish-American singer-songwriter Michael Patrick Kelly and award-winning Jamaican artist Shaggy.
The song has a blissful feel-good vibe, which is the result of these three artists flavourfully blending their respective sounds.
Explaining the meaning of the song, Patrick Kelly says: “‘Rebellion’ is about the rebellion of love in the midst of a world full of hatred and violence. The song is about two rebels, a portrait of the Bonnie & Clyde of love, opposing all the hate and violence in the world by celebrating what they feel for each other. Calling out for a revolution of love, for a rebellion of lovers. The power is in the people who celebrate love and life with music and tear down the works of destruction in this world.”
Fittingly, the song was released via Virgin Records on Valentines Day.
