Black History Month Chilled 100 Cocktails w Edmond’s Honor


In Honor of Black History Month, The Chilled 100 Bartenders Craft Bespoke Cocktails Highlighting Edmond’s Honor Bourbon.

In partnership with Pronghorn, Chilled 100 Bartenders develop original cocktails that not only showcase their individual style, but also highlight the unique qualities of Edmond’s Honor bourbon.


The Vanilla Noir takes its inspiration from the art and etching on the bottle itself; a flower held by a dark figured hand, “Born from botany, made for Bourbon” The selection of Amaro contain macerated elements more appropriately found in an Alchemist’s travel bag than the bar prep room. The robust botanical flavors in the Amaro blend are pleasantly tamed by the vanilla-forward Edmond’s Honor Bourbon, working harmoniously towards a smooth-sipping Black Manhattan with pops of Eucalyptus and Chamomile that linger after each sip. Lemon oils coating the palate round out each subsequent sip with hints of honey and bee pollen, making the Vanilla Noir a pleasantly botanical libation that’s perfect for cold weather nightcaps.









Vanilla Noir

Ingredients


  • 1 ½ oz. Edmond’s Honor Bourbon
  • ½ oz. Don Cicio & Figli Amaro Delle Sirene
  • ½ oz. Carpano Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth
  • Barspoon Maxico Mistico Licor del Sobador
  • Expressed and manicured Lemon Peel (for garnish)



Preparation

  1. Add all ingredients to a mixing pitcher, add ice and stir, strain onto a King cube.
  2. Garnish with expressed and manicured lemon peel.


The flavors throughout this bourbon leant itself well to small touches of outlying flavors allowing me to bring many different things together harmoniously.

Ingredients


  • 2 oz. Edmond’s Honor Bourbon
  • 1 oz. Mezcal Barrel-Aged Coffee Liqueur
  • 2 dashes Umami Tincture*
  • 1/8 oz. Torched Honey Syrup** 



Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients and stir, serve up in two-layered Martini glass; top layer holding the cocktail with orange peel garnish, bottom layer filled with crushed ice to keep cocktail cold.

Ingredients


  • hot water
  • Forest Floor dried mushroom blend
  • MSG

Preparation


  1. 4 parts hot water to 1 part Forest Floor dried mushroom blend, with 0.0025 parts MSG

**Torched Honey Syrup


Preparation


  1. 2 parts Honey in a baking pan, scorch with butane torch until color begins to darken.
  2. Combine with hot water.



This cocktail is all about bringing back those carefree summer days when apricots were sticky-sweet, and their scent filled the air. The vanilla-infused bourbon adds a cozy, nostalgic warmth, while Fino sherry and lemon keep it fresh and bright. Finished with a fluffy apricot cream foam, it’s a little taste of childhood, dressed up for a night out.









The Honorable Apricot

Ingredients


  • 2 oz. Edmond’s Honor Bourbon
  • ½ oz. Apricot Liqueur
  • ½ oz. Fino Sherry
  • ¾ oz. Lemon Juice
  • Apricot Cream Foam*



Preparation

  1. Add bourbon, sherry, apricot liqueur, and lemon juice to shaker with ice and shake.
  2. Double strain into a chilled martini glass and top with apricot foam.
  3. Zest lemon onto the top.

Ingredients


  • 2 oz. cream
  • 1 egg white
  • ½ oz. lemon juice
  • 1 T apricot jam, whipped

Preparation


  1. dd cream, egg white, lemon juice, and apricot jam to a chilled shaker.
  2. Add a hawthorn spring to the shaker to aid in whipping.
  3. Shake vigorously until foamed.



The lovely vanilla and cherry finish with a hint of fall spice made me wish that I wasn’t in Chicago in February, so I decided I’d make an ice cream float to fit Kentucky in June.
The cream soda brings out the vanilla bean in the ice cream and the whiskey and allows the bourbon to shine in a dangerous apple cinnamon a la mode, desert cocktail.









Honorary Float

Ingredients


  • 1 ½ oz. Edmond’s Honor Bourbon
  • ¼ oz. Branca Menta
  • 2 scoops Vanilla Apple Ice Cream
  • Cream Soda to top



Preparation

  1. Blend vanilla bean ice cream with menta spirit and reduced apple juice.
  2. Add two scoops to glass Add 1 ½ oz.
  3. Edmond’s Honor Bourbon.
  4. Top with cream soda.
  5. Grate cinnamon.
  6. Garnish with cinnamon stick, apple chip, and maraschino cherry.


My inspiration for crafting this cocktail is inspired by the elegance of a highball, designed to highlight the rich, nuanced character of Edmond’s Bourbon. Its smooth yet bold profile, with warm vanilla and spice notes, blends seamlessly with the herbal complexity of China-China and the bright tartness of fresh raspberries. The result is a refreshing yet layered cocktail that showcases the remarkable versatility of Edmonds Bourbon in a vibrant, effervescent form









Along The Sea

Ingredients


  • 1 ½ oz. Edmond’s Honor Bourbon
  • ½ oz. China China Amaro
  • ½ oz. Lime Juice 
  • ½ oz. Raspberry Syrup*
  • ¼ oz. Yellow Chartreuse
  • Top with Club Soda (about 1 oz.)
  • Raspberry and Edmond’s Lime Twist (for garnish)



Preparation

  1. Put all ingredients (except club soda) in a shaker and shake well with ice.
  2. Strain into Collins glass over fresh Kold Draft ice.
  3. Top with soda, garnish, and enjoy!

Shelf Life: 2 weeks refrigerated.

*Raspberry Syrup


Ingredients


  • 300 g Raspberry
  • 300 g Water
  • 400 g Sugar
  • Half Lemon (½ lemon juice)

Preparation


  1. Heat water and dissolve sugar in the heated water.
  2. Add raspberries and blanched raspberries for two minutes.
  3. Let it cool down for five minutes and then blend at #5, add half a lemon while you blend it.
  4. Once that is put in a quart container, strain the stuff that sits on top.
