Last year we introduced a new line up of plans for our Australian customers to simplify our offering and make it easier to choose the right plan. As part of this, we made some changes to how payroll was included in our plans. Since then, we’ve heard from you, our community, that we didn’t quite get it right for everyone – particularly those with a few employees, or small business owners who need to pay themselves.
We’ve listened to your feedback
We’ve taken your feedback on board, and as a result, some highly requested changes to our plans are on the way. These changes mean payroll is once again included in all Xero business plans, offering more choice and flexibility when it comes to paying yourself and employees, and keeping up with compliance obligations.
Payroll and auto super upgrades for Xero Ignite and Xero Grow
You’ll soon be able to pay one person on the Xero Ignite plan (as you could on Xero Starter) and two people on Xero Grow (as you could on Xero Standard). You’ll also be able to process automated super payments on both plans – something we know is really important.
What this means for our customers
If you were on Xero before July 2024:
- If you’ve already moved to either the Xero Ignite or Xero Grow plan and would like to stay on it, there’s nothing you need to do.
- For those moving to either the Xero Ignite or Xero Grow plan in July 2025, our current timing stays in place. However, the changes to Xero Ignite and Grow will come into effect before then, so you’ll have the option to switch sooner.
- If the enhanced Xero Ignite or Xero Grow plan is a better option for you than moving up a plan, you can switch plans when we alert you the payroll changes to the two plans are live. The flexibility is yours.
If you joined Xero after 1 July 2024 and you’re on the Xero Ignite, Xero Grow or Xero Comprehensive plans, you may want to take advantage of the changes we’re making that will allow you to pay more people on the Xero Ignite and Xero Grow plans.
