I thought maybe the problem was some awful next-gen sweetener, but nope. Aspartame and sucralose, both of which I handle fine. It’s awful entirely on its own.

Does anyone remember Orange Julius? Their drink was so much like an Orange Dreamsicle to me that I may have personally kept one particular mall OJ store running one summer
That flavor profile might be OK with carbonation, but the very things I like about Coke – mainly the sharpness contrasted with sweetness – simply don’t mesh with orange cream…
I’ve been open minded enough to try things like Dr. Pepper Cherry Vanilla or Dr. Pepper and cream soda… (“Fair, and “meh”.) So it’s not like I won’t experiment. But this one? Nope. Not interested.

I do remember Orange Julius, but never actually went into one. I did however lay waste to many an Auntie Annie’s.
I’m not quite sure what I was expecting with the OC Coke Zero. I figured I might not like it, but am genuinely taken aback by how ghastly it is.

Loved me some Orange Julius back in the day. There are recipes out there to approximate and OJ at home. Haven’t tried any, though. I can’t imagine it’s a hard drink to recreate.

Love orange julius. Protip: some Dairy Queens now offer it (thank the corporate merger overlords I guess). I like vanilla coke and fancy dr pepper but orange… hmm.
