Apple’s recently released iOS 18.3.2 update is now in the hands of everyone around the world, and it’s compatible with a whole raft of different iPhones. New software releases often have an impact on battery life, so how does iOS 18.3.2 fare?
That’s something that YouTuber iAppleBytes set about trying to get to the bottom of with a new video explaining how things went down.
The test saw all of the tested iPhones with their screen brightness set to 25% and connected to the same WiFi network. Auto-brightness was also disabled, as you’d expect.
All of the iPhones were updated to the new software update and then left for 12 hours before testing was started. That was to ensure that all background tasks and caching were complete before the test was run.
The iPhones were then put through their paces using the Geekbench app, and the results can be found in the YouTube video embedded here. We won’t spoil the outcomes too much, but we will say that there is bad news for those who own the newer iPhone 16.
According to the video, the iPhone 16 saw its battery last more than two hours less than it did during previous tests. That isn’t great news, but as ever it’s important to remember that your mileage may vary.
