Mathews and Alawy Earn Accredited Business Valuation (ABV) Certification

We are proud to announce that Jake Mathews, CPA, ABV, Senior Associate and Ghazi Alawy, VFS Associate, both received their Accredited Business Value (ABV) certification from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The ABV certification is a credential given to accountants who are experts in assessing a company’s finances and assets to determine the business’s overall value.

In order to obtain an ABC certification, you must meet four requirements. First, register for the two-part exam, which consists of 90 multiple choice questions per part. Next, complete 75 hours of education in the ABV body of knowledge within five years of the ABV application. In addition, CPAs must complete 1,500 hours of business valuation experience, while valuation professionals must complete 4,5000 hours of valuation experience within the same five-year period. Finally, submit your application, attest to meeting the educational requirements, and pay the credential fee to obtain ABV credentials.

Congratulations to Jake and Ghazi on their well-deserved achievement!
