Public Coast Brewing Releases Two Beers Made for Thanksgiving

Public Coast Brewing just released two new beers that were made for your Thanksgiving table!

Prior to becoming Public Coast’s head brewer, Will Leroux trained and worked as a chef. He uses his culinary knowledge to design beers that pair beautifully with food. The brewery sent me samples of their newest canned releases.

First up is Old Bog Farm Cranberry Kettle Sour. This crimson colored kettle soured ale bursts with bright cranberry flavor! I’d recommend pairing this with turkey & gravy or other heavy meat courses, as the beer’s tartness (bordering on sour) will cut through and serve as a nice contrast to your dish’s fatty rich goodness.

Next up is Stackstout Candy Cap Stout, made with candy cap mushrooms. While I can’t detect the mushroom notes in this beer, I do taste plenty of vanilla, espresso, and roasted malt. Fortunately, this stout is light bodied and you still will be able to enjoy it at the end of a heavy meal. That’s a good thing as it will pair well with desert selections, especially chocolate.

Thanksgiving is just a few days away and you can find these beers (in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans) at Hops on Tap in Tigard, John’s Marketplace in Portland, and the Milwaukee Bottle Shop. Thanks to Public Coast Brewing for giving me the opportunity to try these unique beers!

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
