


Virtual 5k Race and Medal will be featured in educational day
CLEARWATER, FL (March 21, 2025) — Learn about sea turtles and celebrate Sea Turtle Awareness Day April 5, 2025 at CMA from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Sea Turtle Conservation Program is preparing for sea turtle nesting season with nest stake painting, custom Protect theNest plaques and even a 5k virtual run this year that shows your dedication to sea turtles.
CMA will have more than a dozen sea turtle conservation partners and teams joining us with additional information to help protect sea turtles and their habitats. This event is included with general admission tickets.
This year, CMA will have a virtual 5k race, which participants can complete at their leisure, and comes with a uniquely designed medal. Race entry is $50. To register for the virtual 5k, visit here.
· Dolphin complex level 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – CMA Sea Turtle conservation program demonstration and activities
· Lake Cleanup 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Lake Belleview Cleanup

Participating partners include Florida Aquarium, Keep Pinellas Beautiful, Sea Turtle Trackers, Synergy, Water Warriors, Treasure Island Beach Ambassadors, ACE Hardware, ASPCA, Trash Turtles and more.
Families can protect a sea turtle nest this season with a personalized plague. Personalize your message and then your plaque will be placed at one of CMA’s nests for the duration of the 2025 season. In addition to photos of your plaque, you will also receive monthly updates on the nesting season from our nesting team, and at the end of the season, you will receive an update on your nest as well as your personalized plaque to keep.
