Vella by VONDISY is a moody, atmospheric track that slowly builds, exploring dark ambient textures and emotive soundscapes. The piece begins with a subdued, misty atmosphere, gradually evolving with layered synth tones and subtle textures that create a sense of depth. As the track progresses, these layers expand, forming a soundscape that feels both immersive and unsettling.
VONDISY is the collaborative project of Kodomo and Micah Frank, two artists known for their work with tape loops, lo-fi textures, and experimental sound design. With Vella, they capture the feeling of being suspended in a fog-covered sea—an image that perfectly reflects the track’s slowly shifting, hypnotic character.
The track is part of VONDISY’s second EP, VONDISY 2, which follows last year’s debut release. Their work draws on influences from early industrial music—artists like Skinny Puppy, Ministry, and Throbbing Gristle—while also embracing the atmospheric qualities of contemporary ambient music. This combination of gritty, industrial textures and expansive ambient elements gives their sound a unique identity.
