I love using panko breadcrumbs as they add a light and crunchy coating to many dishes, from chicken schnitzel and oven baked chicken nuggets, to veggie nuggets and mashed potato cakes. Ingredients needed to make the recipe placed in individual bowls.Ingredients needed to make the recipe placed in individual bowls.
  • Bone-in pork chops – these have more flavour than boneless pork chops and the slightly larger amount of fat on them helps stop them from drying out as they cook in the air fryer.
  • Plain flour – also known as all-purpose flour.
  • Eggs – I use size large eggs which weigh approx. 55-60g.
  • Panko crumbs – panko breadcrumbs give the best crunch to the pork chops! I like to use the Obento brand, however you can use your favourite brand or make your own breadcrumbs to coat the pork chops.
  • Parmesan cheese use freshly grated parmesan! Pre-grated cheese does not give the same fresh parmesan flavour and contains ‘anti-caking’ agents. It often works out more expensive per gram than fresh parmesan too!
  • Garlic powder – this adds a delicous background flavour to the panko coating, and isn’t as pungent as fresh raw garlic.
  • Salt and pepper – to season.
  • Cooking oil spray – or use normal olive oil and lightly drizzle over the panko crumbed pork chop.

Equipment Required

You hardly need any equipment to make pork chops in the air fryer, just 3 shallow bowls or plates, and an air fryer! That’s it!
