A Rebirth & Evolution Of The Panerai Luminor Marina At Watches & Wonders 2025

Sitting down to write this release about the new 2025 Panerai Luminor Marina Collection really hits home and comes full circle a full 15 years after I became a member of the Panerai family with the purchase of my PAM312. When I decided to get my first Panerai, I did a lot of research to see exactly what I wanted and I landed on the 312 because I loved the 1950’s case, in house movement, and quick strap system just to name a few.

So after a number of minor changes and advancements on the iconic piece we have arrived here, 2025 with the Luminor Marina being at the heart of the novelties presented at Watches and Wonders. While we have grown accustom to a lot more models being released throughout the year, we start off with the 5 core pieces they are introducing to us. The PAM03312, PAM03313, PAM03314, PAM03323, and PAM03325.

Before we go into the differences of these 5 pieces, lets discuss what they all have in common. Each of these new models are powered by a brand new in-house movement, the P.980 Calibre. The automatic movement features a 3-day power reserve and includes a traversing balance bridge, enhancing the stability and performance accuracy of the timepiece.  The movement also features a stop-second function, allowing the wearer to precisely set the time by halting the seconds hand when the crown lever is pulled out. The movement also goes through six-position testing to ensure reliable chronometric performance at all times.

All of the new models also now for the first time have a resistance up to 50 BAR or (~500 meters), a debut standard for the collection. This upgrade doubles down on the legacy of the diving watch that reflects it’s history.

The new Luminor Marina collection features a redesigned case which is much sleeker than any of its predecessors. With the new movement measuring only 12 ½ lignes, it allowed the new case to be  modernized with a thinner profile which 12% thinner and 15% lighter leading to a much more comfortable and ergonomic feel.

The older button quick strap system that I grew accustom to on the PAM312 has now been replaced with the PAM Click release system that we have seen on other models up till this point. You will no longer need tools to change the look and feel of your Panerai.

While the dials might differ in color and texture, the all share some commonalties. They all feature a date window at the 3 o’clock position and a sub second dial to the right of the 9 o’clock position.  Gone is the word Automatic that was on the previous 1312 as well as the blue accent hand we saw on the sub second dial. I think these choices were great and brought back the iconic look of these pieces with a  cleaner and less busy dial. Of course we can’t forget the lume, which on these models is the newer Super-Luminova X2 giving you increased brightness for easier reading in low light situations.

So now that we have that out of the way, let’s find the model that sings to you the most by running down the different versions that are being shown in Geneva this year. First up we have the PAM03312, which features a simple but chic black dial, green Super-Luminova X2, and stainless steel 44mm case paired with the black alligator strap with ecru stitching.

The PAM03313 features a the beautiful brushed blue sunburst dial with white lume paired with a blue alligator strap and ecrus stitching wrapped up in a stainless steel case.

The PAM03314 has a clean crisp white dial with matching white lume in a 44mm stainless steel case and black alligator strap.

The PAM03323 while also featuring a blue sunburst dial and white lume breaks away from the alligator strap with a updated stainless steel band. The newly reimagined metal bracelet uses a progressive V-shape design that tapers from the case to the buckle offering a lighter feel for everyday wear. The main links have a brushed finish while the smaller interior ones are polished giving it a beautiful contrast. The PAM03323 is also the first model to feature the new Quick Length Adjustment feature, allowing the bracelet to extend by 2mm on each side while maintaining a perfect balance on the wrist. This allows you adjust on the fly without tools if extra room for comfort is needed. As with the leather straps, it also features the PAM Click Release system in case you want to go for a different look. This combination of blue sun brushed dial and stainless steel bracelet is a first for Panerai.

Last but not least we have the first model that utilizes a different material for the 44mm Luminor Marina case. The PAM003325 Luminor Marina Titanio,  merges a classic look with high-tech materials paired with a green sun brushed dial. The case is crafted from Grade 5 titanium known for its strength which is comparable to steel but with 44% less weight making it an ideal choice for those who also want comfort. This green dialed beauty is paired with a grey calf leather strap with ecru stitching.
