Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Randolph County Until 5:30 AM : The Alabama Weather Blog


The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Randolph County in east central Alabama until 5:30 AM CDT.

At 4:49 AM, a strong storm was located near Lake Wedowee, moving east at 40 mph.

This storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and nickel-size hail. Possible impacts include damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations in the path include Roanoke, Wedowee, Wadley, Woodland, and the R.L. Harris Dam.

If you’re in the warning area, seek shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
