To help expedite recovery in response to deadly Los Angeles wildfires, Apple gives users simple ways to help LA wildfire victims by linking donation pages in popular apps directly to the American Red Cross, CEO Tim Cook said in an X.com post Wednesday. This follows the iPhone giant’s own donation of an undisclosed amount as well as considerations extended to wildfire victims regarding their Apple Card payments.

Following previous announcements that Apple would donate funds for LA wildfire recovery and allow delayed Apple Card payments for victims, Cook posted on X.com to provide Apple fans and the general public easy ways to donate funds to help in the recovery efforts as firefighters continue to battle blazes in greater Los Angeles. Donations go straight to the American Red Cross.

“Our hearts go out to all impacted by the ongoing devastation in LA. In addition to Apple’s donation, we’re making it easy to support recovery efforts,” Cook wrote. “If you’re in the US, just open the App Store or Apple Music and click to donate to help make a difference.”

He included a direct App Store link for anyone to follow so they can donate to the American Red Cross with just a few clicks.

As of Wednesday, the fires had killed 25 people, destroyed more than 12,000 structures, burned over 60 square miles (an area larger than many cities, such as San Francisco’s city limits of about 49 square miles), according to CBS News and other outlets. Currently more than 80,000 people in Los Angeles County are under evacuation orders and officials fear high winds might return Wednesday to fan the flames.

Apple operates out of staffed locations in Los Angeles, including the Tower Theatre Apple Store downtown and a new complex in Culver City.
