It all started with a Ouija board… and went south from there.
I’ve never publicly talked about this. In my 20s I was channelling “guides.” I use the term verrry loosely. It all started with a Ouija board.
Friends were messing with a Ouija, and I got in on the action. Whenever I touched the planchette it went wildly fast. I felt special n’ all esoteric.
Ouija encouraged me to start channelling. Like, sit down, close my eyes and let spirits come through. I felt EXTRA special. Soon people were coming over to get channelings about their past lives, health and future relationships.
It was charming. And gross. It was also legit. It was not me faux-talking. I was most definitely relaying from the astral plane. Which is to say, I was letting myself be used by low vibration entities.
I had this female energy come through often. Jezebel-vibe. When she appeared I was filled with intense cravings to smoke and drink. I felt like a train station for ghosts with unresolved issues. But man, the whole situation was irresistible for a period of time.
I knew it was real. I knew it could be harmful.
A more sagacious friend called and said she had a message from her own guides—which I deeply trusted: I was to stop messing around with this foolishness. And I did, immediately. I owe an apology to anybody I gave BS channeling advice to. I was a rookie New Ager, under the influence of low vibe bad actors, getting a taste of my power. I’m still slightly mortified but amused by it all. But… wiser, baby.

Just because a disembodied energy comes through from the “other side” doesn’t mean that it’s higher vibration than someone on the Earth plane.

Just because someone has the capacity to connect with interdimensional beings, does not mean that they are higher frequency than muggles.

There’s no need to be excessively impressed by characters on the other side or some of the people who channel them. Energy is energy, no matter where it comes from. High, low, corrupt, pure. Ghost’ish. Earthly.
There are mediums and channels with mega platforms and bestsellers. Legit channels of entities. They give accurate prognostications some of the time. They can recall past lives and formulate effective healing protocols. It does not mean that they’re tuned to Source. They are the blinded leading the blind.
Some channellers start with pure intention and get energetically hijacked when their fame rises. It’s not the fame itself that creates the distortion, it’s the lower energies intruding because they want a bigger microphone to spread distorted messages. If the channeller isn’t doing their inner work, they’re vulnerable to unwitting takeovers.
Some channels are luminous. Respect. Honour. Thank you.
Some are dubious. Peace.
How can you tell? Well, it’s hard to tell. Your nervous system might know. If you’ve cleansed your own vehicle enough—with meditation and devotion and loving kindness, you’ll be more able to discern. It’s probably best to just follow your heart and only take advice from people who know and adore you and have earned their wisdom. And even then, you’ve got to make the call—your Soul will answer. Legit.
