Where To Start

I kicked things off with a La Rubia draft—because when you’re keeping it local, you start with a local brew. While scanning the menu, I noticed the Johnny Cuba hot sauces on the table. That Jamaican scotch bonnet one? A personal breakfast go-to for eggs and hash browns, so seeing it here was a win.

The place still rocks its signature blend of no-frills and old-school charm, complete with picnic tables, bar stools, and a few proper tables outside. I grabbed a seat by the window, because that’s where all the people watching happens.

It was a Tuesday, and that meant unlimited tacos from 3 to 11 p.m. Please note that pico de gallo and sour cream are extra, but still a great deal.

I asked for a fountain cola and was pleasantly surprised to receive it in a branded Hole in the Wall plastic cup. The ice? Top-tier. Don’t underestimate good ice.

Let’s Talk Food

Classic Chicken Wings

I kept it classic with the char-grilled wings, served with both blue cheese and ranch—still crispy, still lightly charred, still excellent. They reminded me of Sports Grill or Keg South, which is high praise. That’s no coincidence, either, as rumor has it that a former Keg South manager is behind Hole in the Wall. It shows—from the decor to the flavor, the DNA is there.

Next up was their all-beef 1/3 lb char-hot dog. The dog itself was tasty as hell, but the sub-style bread it came in wasn’t my favorite. However, stuffing the fresh-cut fries inside alongside jalapeño nacho cheese sauce more than made up for it.

Speaking of those fries—they’ve leveled up. Crispy, salty, golden perfection. Hole in the Wall has seriously upped its potato game since my last visit. Count me as a fan.

And Then Came the Hole Burger

The Hole Burger is an 8oz char-grilled beauty served on a brioche roll with all the fixings on the side: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mayo, mustard, ketchup. I kept it simple—just cheese. One bite in, and the flame-grilled flavor hit me hard. Perfectly pink in the middle, juicy, and well-balanced, with a soft, toasted bun and melted cheese. This is the kind of burger you remember.

Final Thoughts

Hole in the Wall Pub isn’t just comfort food—it’s comfort food done right. You feel it in the way they grill their wings, pour their soda, and treat their fries like a main attraction. And while I’ll always have a soft spot for Keg South, Hole in the Wall has carved out its lane, especially at this Kings Creek location.

And if Kings Creek isn’t convenient, you’re in luck—they’ve expanded to multiple locations across the Miami suburbs. One is probably near you.
