Grief in Black Ops 6 Zombies is definitely competitive. Here are some tips and tricks to help you get better.
What to Do First for the Abomination Challenge?
The first thing that players will need to do is simply prepare. Just like in regular Liberty Falls, players will spawn in the starting area and will have to make their way over to the church where Pack-a-Punch is located to take on Mo, the Abomination. However, during this time, intense waves of enemies will continuously spawn.
Before heading to Mo, it’s best to get into a position where the player has the following:
- Two weapons of at least Epic rarity and Tier II Pack-a-Punch
- Perks such as Jugger-Nog, Speed Cola, Stamin-Up, and PHD Flopper
- Tier III Armor Vest
- Ammo Mods
- Mutant Injection and Essence for Traps (cheese method)
The fastest way to achieve the prerequisites above without the use of GobbleGums is a combination of farming eliminations for Salvage and Essence, followed by farming S.A.M. Trials. Since each round progresses much faster in this mode, S.A.M. Trials spawn incredibly frequently, yielding free Perks, Salvage, Essence, and even Scorestreaks and Ammo Mods to make the Abomination challenge much smoother.
Players can also spin the Mystery Box or wait for a Wall-Buy to increase in rarity to get hold of a higher rarity weapon without the need to spend any Salvage at The Arsenal. As for players who want to cut down on time with GobbleGums, Hidden Power, Perkaholic, and then either Wall-Power or Crate Power are going to be the go-tos.
Once players have all the prep work done, head on over to the Pack-a-Punch room and open it up to spawn in Mo. It’s also best to make a quick dash for Pack-a-Punch to upgrade weapons if possible, though doing so may require players to circle back a couple of times if they are not using Aether Shroud or Energy Mine to keep zombies off their back.
In the Abomination Challenge, passive healing is disabled. Players can only get their health back by eating Snacks dropped by Special and Elite Zombies, along with healing with Stims, Healing Aura, and the Light Mend Ammo Mod.
How to Complete the Abomination Challenge
To beat Mo and complete the Abomination Challenge, players need to take down the boss using a combination of high damage and smart movement. The biggest challenge is getting overwhelmed by base enemies and other Elite Zombies while focusing on Mo. Because of this, it’s best to equip high-damage weapons that can quickly clear out the crowd before circling back to Mo. Augments are also a must, especially those that are movement-based.
Here is a quick rundown of some recommended weapons and essential Augments to make use of:
-
Weapons:
- Akimbo GS45s
- Maelstrom or ASG-99
- CR-56 AMAX
- XM4
- AS VAL
- Saug
- GMPG-7
-
Augments:
- Dasher & Hard Target (Stamin-Up)
- Probiotic & Hardened Plates (Jugger-Nog)
- Classic Formula & Quick Swap (Speed Cola)
- PHD Slider & Tribologist (PHD Flopper)
- Extension (Aether Shroud)
- Frequency Boost (Energy Mine)
As for Mo itself, players will need to dish out consistent damage to each of the boss’s glowing mouths using a high-rarity weapon. The glowing mouth indicates where critical damage can be dealt.
However, one thing to keep in mind is the point at which your weapon’s damage will begin to deteriorate. Mo appears to have the ability to nullify the damage dealt by the player’s currently equipped weapon over time, rendering it immune. To work around this, players should carry two strong weapons and alternate between them to avoid the immunity effect.
Another thing to look out for is Mo’s two signature moves. Here’s a quick breakdown of how to deal with each:
- Laser Attack: While regular Abominations can have this move interrupted, Mo’s higher health and the fact that players can’t auto-regenerate health make this one harder to cancel. Your best bet is to retreat out of range or take cover when the laser begins to charge.
- Charge Attack: Keep your distance and sidestep the attack when you see it coming. If you get hit, all of your Perks will be removed, so dodging is crucial.

How to Cheese the Mo Boss Fight
As of right now, there are two reliable strategies that players can use to cheese the Mo boss fight and get the Abomination Challenge completed fast. The first is to use a Mutant Injection. Melee hits with the Mutant Injection deal immense damage to Mo, allowing players to chip away at its health quickly.
The second method is to utilize the Aetherella Trap. Two uses of the Aetherella Trap, paired with consistent damage focused on Mo, can take the boss down fairly effectively. However, it’s important to note that—after some testing—players will need to dish out the last bit of damage themselves to complete the Abomination Challenge and claim its rewards.
All Abomination Challenge Rewards in Black Ops 6
Right when players have defeated Mo, they will have completed the Abomination Challenge and claimed its rewards. While players will remain in-game after beating the boss—being prompted to survive and exfil beyond that point—doing so isn’t entirely necessary, as players will already be rewarded for their efforts.
Here is a breakdown of the rewards players will receive:
- Hidden Power GobbleGum
- 15,000 XP
- Abomination Challenge Calling Card
