Adam Sellouk Brings the Heat with ‘Dance Machine’

Adam Sellouk is making his debut on the Insomniac label with his latest single, “Dance Machine,” and the Tel Aviv producer isn’t holding back.

Sellouk has been quietly growing his profile in the melodic techno realm, with releases on Afterlife and sets at Tomorrowland and Brooklyn Mirage under his belt. However, “Dance Machine” reveals another aspect of his sound—one that is grimmer, deeper, and more primordial.

Running at 128 BPM, the tune takes no time getting physical. That initial groove slams forcefully, with a kick drum that seems like it’s punching through your chest. The bassline simply moves forward, unrelenting and locked in, rather than dancing. This isn’t music for reflection. It’s functional, intended for one purpose: to make you move.

What Sellouk does brilliantly here is restraint. The music might easily slide into melodic territory; that’s his comfort zone, after all. However, “Dance Machine” maintains a simple, almost industrial style. The synth work is steely and crisp, precisely cutting through the low end. The repetition and the way elements come and go, creating tension without ever letting it go, have a hypnotic quality.

Things start to change at the two-minute mark. A filtered vocal sample flows through the percussion, barely audible yet creating texture. It’s evocative, even ghostly, rather than attempting to be remembered or catchy. Almost everything is removed from the track, leaving only the kick and hi-hats, before everything is re-layered. That push-pull dynamic keeps you locked in, waiting for what happens next.

Adam Sellouk continues to prove he’s not just another producer following the melodic wave. With ‘Dance Machine‘, he’s showing flexibility, diversity, and a willingness to explore other corners of the dancefloor. And based on its Insomniac Records debut, it’s a direction worth keeping an eye on.
