YOU MAY HAVE ESCAPED… BUT YOU’LL NEVER BE FREE.
After her terrifying experience at the hands of the Watchers, Mina has escaped to a cottage on the west coast of Ireland. She obsessively researches her former captors, desperate to find any way to prolong the safety of humankind.
When Mina encounters a stranger near her home, she fears the worst – for she knows the figure is not what it seems. Soon, people she has encountered start to disappear.
Mina knows the Watchers’ power is growing. She flees for her life, but when she reports her fears she finds her sanity questioned. Can she convince people that the Watchers are real, and ready to strike – or will she suffer the fate she has dreaded since she first encountered those malevolent beings?

This is a new author for me. The physical books I picked up from my library were chosen blind based on the cover and title. I knew nothing about Stay in the Light before I picked up. This is a sequel to The Watchers which was adapted into a movie by M Night Shyamalan which I loved. I don’t think you need to have read the first book or seen the movie to enjoy this. I’ve reserved other books by the author from the library because I loved this. A woman is trying to live in seclusion and isolation because she’s being pursued by strange fairy-tale creatures known as changelings. They like to watch humans and mimic them so they can make them disappear and take their place. They’ll never stop and they always find you. This is a creepy, gothic horror novel that gave me the shudders. I’d recommend it.
