This Ends Tonight delivers a story that “aims for your jugular“, and brain.
There’s no long preamble, explanation, nothing. Gerry Duggan, Kelvin Mao, and Robert Windom (writers) drop-kick the reader into the middle of a dream brought vividly to life by Jae Lee (art) and June Chung (colours).
I had no idea what was going on and – honestly – I didn’t care. Jae Lee and June Chung‘s art is kinetic and fluid with colours that run hot. The pages are fractured, with jagged panels creating a crazy dreamscape in the readers’ minds. You fall into This Ends Tonight.
This Ends Tonight is a three-issue mini-series of overlapping, inter-connected stories set in Las Vegas.
The second issue puts us in the pink bus we saw in the first.
