presenting some elements of the bouquet that make up the taste I experience in
Port – or in the blend, as one precisely calls it when referring to the subtle
crafting of wines of that name. Yet i tis only my personal blend, and of this
presente moment: yours will likely be diferente, just as mine will be tomorrow.

“Mas de que é
feito, afinal, o gosto do Porto?
(…) O caleidoscópio é
demasiado complicado e movediço para o apreendermos completamente. Uma vida
inteira, movida por uma curiosidade atenta, não seria suficiente – e ainda bem,
pois, de contrário o que haveria para descobrir?
Como já afirmei, não procuro
senão partilhar o prazer de saborear. Limito-me, assim, a apresentar alguns
elementos do bouquet, que compõe o gosto que tenho do Porto – ou do loteamento,
como precisamente se diz para falar da elaboração subtil dos vinhos do mesmo
nome. Contudo, é apenas o meu blend pessoal, e a do momento presente: o vosso
será provavelmente diferente, como o será o meu amanhã.
Nisto reside a riqueza
do gosto.
