The generosity of NATS colleagues continues to make a meaningful difference to communities across the UK, with more than £110,000 donated to charities and good causes during the first quarter of 2026.
Fundraising challenges, volunteering, payroll giving and supporting local charities; these are all ways that colleagues have continued to demonstrate an incredible commitment to giving back. Together, they’ve supported hundreds of organisations, helping provide vital equipment, improving community spaces and raising thousands of pounds for causes far and wide.
Supporting charities all year round
Giving back is embedded into NATS’ everyday life through initiatives that make it easy for employees to support the communities around them.
Give As You Earn (GAYE), our payroll giving initiative, lets employees donate directly from their salary to charities and causes they care about. During Q1 alone, employees donated more than £74,000, supporting over 325 charitable organisations.
The NATS Community Fund continued to provide financial support to employees who volunteer or raise money for charities in their own time, as well as teams delivering community projects together. During Q1, the Fund awarded more than £30,000 to 37 organisations, helping charities deliver projects that will have a lasting impact in their communities.
Funding supported a wide range of initiatives, including new IT equipment for a counselling service, backstroke training wedges for a swim team, outdoor play equipment for a local school and protective jackets for a girls’ rugby team.
Going the extra mile
Mollie raised more than £5,300 for Rowans Hospice; a remarkable achievement.
Making a difference together
Giving back is often a team effort, with our teammates coming together to support charities as part of volunteering and teambuilding activities.
Colleagues have helped refresh wellbeing facilities at Solent Mind, redecorated kennel units for St Francis Animal Welfare, and improved the outdoor space at an infant school.
Our site-selected charities – The Micah Project, Sophie’s Legacy and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance – have reaped the fundraising rewards of sponsored walks, marathon events and even a skydive, while donations of household essentials, thermometers and fidget toys provided practical support where it was needed most.
But it’s not just about fundraising. Our partner, Mitie, donated dozens of books to a community book swap. They also did a litter pick around the NATS HQ in Whiteley, Hampshire, while our own Communications team litter-picked a nearby beach. These small acts of kindness all contribute to making a positive difference where we live and work.
We’re incredibly proud of the compassion, generosity and enthusiasm shown by employees across NATS and look forward to seeing the impact we can continue to make together throughout the rest of the year.
