A 90-minute online workshop on disrupting authoritarian narratives — and building ones that win.
Authoritarianism has a predictable playbook. But with the right strategy and imagination, we can run circles around their plans. Join Stacey Abrams, Steve Lambert from the Center for Artistic Activism, and narrative strategist Janelle Treibitz for a participatory workshop on disrupting the logic of authoritarianism and building a better way forward.

You’ll learn how the Authoritarian Narrative Cycle drives attacks on people and institutions — and how we can defeat it. Stacey Abrams will share her framework for understanding this moment and what’s needed to move us back toward democracy. Janelle Treibitz will show how to weave effective anti-authoritarian narratives into creative actions that inspire more people to actively resist and bridge to the future we need.
You’ll leave with more clarity on how to develop creative actions that strike at the heart of authoritarian power grabs instead of chasing each new crisis as it comes.
Take it further
The workshop is just the start. This session also launches an Action Challenge. Over the following three weeks, anyone who wants to go deeper can design and implement their own action, join weekly mentoring sessions with Steve Lambert, and share what they’ve built at a closing showcase.
For advocates, organizers, communicators, and anyone looking for innovative, strategic ways to respond to this moment.
We’ll be posting a recording of this on our site shortly after the event.
