Ambiental FloodScore™ added to Airbus’ SpatiaCore

Airbus’ SpatiaCore provides insurance risk managers, underwriters, claims adjusters, and lenders , access to environmental perils data at address level. Residential address data appended with information for flood risk, subsidence risk, a count of non-repudiated subsidence claims in the area and customers’ own data, plus lots more. Airbus use the most up-to-date address information to ensure the regular addition of data on new builds. The SpatiaCore can provide an environmental peril assessment for a customers’ property portfolio with geographic concentrations of existing risk exposure, to help inform decisions.

”Our innovative SpatiaCore is fed with the most up-to-date and reliable data in order to provide the best environmental risk assessment to customers” says Vanessa Balmbra, Airbus UK Sales Manager for Finance and Insurance. “This detailed analysis enables businesses to prepare and mitigate future risks. We are delighted to add Ambiental’s Flood data to our environmental perils data offering.”

“This new data source means that we can work with businesses to provide the most suitable information to meet business requirements. We can also help organisations understand what the risk means, how that risk could affect their business and properties, and we can help them with their regulatory reporting through provision and understanding of the physical risk data. We are committed to empowering insurers and lenders with the right data to help them make informed decisions throughout their insurance and lending processes”.

During the past year, Ambiental has been rolling out its high-resolution flood maps for Western Europe and has many other countries available as part of a suite of climate risk exposure scoring products.

Rob Carling, Channel Sales Manager at Ambiental says, “We are delighted to welcome Airbus to our growing number of resellers and look forward to working with them and their customers. With temperatures reaching record-breaking levels across much of Europe this summer and the frequency of extreme weather events increasing, there is a growing need for high-resolution flood and other natural perils data across Europe. To help meet this demand, the Ambiental United Kingdom and Ireland flood maps and FloodScore data are now available through Airbus”.

At a time when extreme weather events such as the July 2021 floods across Europe, have generated an estimated £36 billion in damages and approximately 200 fatalities¹. With natural catastrophes having risen three places on the 2022 Allianz Risk Barometer², insurers are welcoming the opportunity to have this data at an early stage of risk assessment in order to avoid
