Our 8th edition of our annual Largest Law Firms in Malaysia series. We total the number of lawyers from the Malaysian Bar Legal Directory. This is as at 28 December 2025.
The law firms will include the lawyers from their branch offices.
By the end of this year, there was no change in the ranking of the top three largest law firms compared with our 2024 ranking. The firms of Shearn Delamore & Co, Christopher & Lee Ong, and Skrine.
Law Firm Mergers and Additions
The rankings of Malaysia’s largest law firms may look different next year with a continued trend of mergers and additions to the large law firms.
In December 2025, Christopher & Lee Ong, a member firm of Rajah & Tann Asia, announced that with effect from 1 January 2026, it will merge with Sanjay Mohan, a construction disputes and arbitration practice.
Sanjay Mohan’s firm currently comprises 29 lawyers, with its founder set to assume the role of head of disputes at Christopher & Lee Ong following the merger. On present numbers, this would propel Christopher & Lee Ong beyond the 150-lawyer mark. and would place it as the largest law firm in Malaysia.
2025 also saw Adnan Sundra & Low (ASL) strengthening several key practice areas.
In February 2025, Sudharsanan Thillainathan and his team moved from Steven Thiru & Sudhar Partnership to join ASL, bolstering its disputes capability.
This was followed in July 2025 by the addition of Kevin Prakash, to lead the firm’s new construction and infrastructure disputes practice.
More recently, Rohan Arasoo Jeyabalah joined from Harold & Lam Partnership to lead ASL’s newly established employment advisory and litigation practice.
Rosli Dahlan Saravana Partnership (RDS) recruited a number of partners in 2025 and continued its growth path as one of the largest law firms. Five partners in February, two corporate partners in July, recruiting Teo Siang Ly as their corporate partner, and welcoming Dato’ Nadia Marni Mat Zin as a partner of the firm.
Cross-Border Legal Networks
In line with Malaysia’s continued drawing in of foreign investment, foreign law firms show continued interest in establishing networks and alliances with Malaysian law firms.
RDS announced in February 2025 its strategic alliance with DeHeng Law Offices, one of China’s largest law firms. In October 2025, RDS announced its business collaboration with Anderson Mori & Tomotsune of Japan.
Cheang & Ariff became the Malaysian member of WongPartnership’s regional law network, WPG. Through the WPG network – established by WongPartnership in 2017 – the Singapore Big Four law firm has its regional reach, which include Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
With the continued activity of cross-border legal networks, it remains to be seen if we will see the re-entry of any foreign law firms into Malaysia.
