ASTERISK AND THE BIG FIGHT BY RENE GOSCINNY

ILLUSTRATED BY ALBERT UNDERZO

Paperback published by little brown 19th May 2025

A collaborator in ancient Gaul? Chief Cassius Ceramix has gone over to the Roman enemy. There’s something very fishy going on, as Legionary Infirmofpurpus discovers when he is sent to spy on the Gauls disguised as a crab apple tree. But is that just a red herring? And what about the two concussed druids brewing colourful potions? One way or another, the fight for control of the village between vitalstatistix and his rival is bound to be knocked out.

MY REVIEW

Asterisk and the Big Fight is told in comic form that will appeal to children and middle grade readers. I loved the fresh and different characters set within this story, that gave me the biggest smile to my face. Let’s meet the characters. Asterix , is the hero of these adventures. Obelix is Asterix inseparable friend. Getafix, is the venerable village Druid. There is Cacofonix, the bard, opinion is divided as to his musical gifts. And finally we have Vitalstatistix, the chief of the tribe. The story made me laugh with an enemy Warrior that is turned into brightly different colours by a druids making a colour potion. Highly entertaining. Asterix has been adapted for years. There has been so many brilliant books well over 40 plus there a great selection on further more books to choose from, you can choose to buy one book from your favourite title or get the whole set. Thank you so much little brown and tandem collective for sending me this book that gave the biggest smile on face.
