This past week, Nintendo unveiled the much anticipated next generation console which will be simply called “Switch 2.” A playful video walks the viewer around new hardware, which is an upgraded version of the original Switch console system. Along with the hardware reveal, new versions of popular franchises are expected, including all new Mario adventures. The future possibilities led to these Switch 2-inspired Mario wallpapers.
Mario wallpapers for iPhone
Within the announcement trailer, Nintendo already showcased an updated Mario Kart. Mario Kart 8 had already launched for the Wii-U; consequently, it would be shocking for Nintendo to add Mario Kart 8 to the future generation. Therefore, the game is expected to be Mario Kart 9 of sorts and did focus on Mario’s character.
Ideally, we see a new Mario Odyssey as well, to lead the console launch later this year. Thankfully, the Switch 2 will be backwards compatible for a majority of Switch games, both physical and digital. If your favorite game does not receive a next gen new launch, then prepare to relive the excitement of Switch games in upgraded resolutions. It is expected the Switch 2 will be able to upgrade previous console games to 1080P or 4K when docked.
