How to Watch Samsung’s January 2025 Galaxy Unpacked and What to Expect • iPhone in Canada Blog

On Wednesday, January 25th, Samsung will be hosting its big annual Galaxy Unpacked keynote. With a live event taking place in San Jose, Samsung will reveal “a new chapter in mobile AI.”

Historically, Samsung’s January Galaxy Unpacked is its largest event of the year. This is when the company offers a brand new look at its flagship smartphones as well as other mobile devices. As announced by the company in its press release, this iteration of Galaxy Unpacked will unveil “premium Galaxy innovations that bring seamless convenience into every moment of your life.” As tradition dictates, this will likely include the Galaxy S25 series of smartphones.

Although Samsung has been vocal at CES 2025, the company stopped short of making any announcements regarding its mobile devices. However, Samsung did announce its ‘AI For All’ vision, which incorporates the use of AI across Galaxy devices, tablets, and smart home products. Unfortunately, during CES, Samsung didn’t elaborate on any new Galaxy devices.

As for announcements, rumours have indicated that the Galaxy S25 series will include a standard base model which will likely carry over many of the same design features. It’s believed the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25 Plus will support the same camera sensor as last year’s models. These devices may be joined by a high-end Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is claimed to offer thinner bezels and a larger 6.86-inch display. Samsung may also be tweaking the design to offer rounded corners on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The device may be thinner and lighter, though still supports the same 4,900mAh battery as last year.

Last year, Samsung revealed its plans to debut a new mixed reality (XR) device in 2025. During an investor call, the company revealed that “upcoming XR devices” are on the roadmap. Samsung hasn’t followed up with what these devices may be. However, reports indicate that a new version of the Android software will be retrofitted for the  XR devices. They’ll also be powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip. Depending on the categories Samsung is positioning these devices, they may be unveiled during the Galaxy Unpacked event.

iPhone in Canada will be on-site in San Jose, reporting on all the latest new from Galaxy Unpacked. If you’re eager to tune in yourself, the event will be streamed live on Samsung.comSamsung Newsroom and Samsung’s YouTube channel. Galaxy Unpacked begins at 1 PM ET/ 10 AM PT on January 22nd.
