Family-run estate agency completes third acquisition

Capital Estate Agents in south east London has completed the purchase of Edmunds Lettings in Orpington.

This is the company’s third acquisition since 2020. Capital Estate Agents, which launched in 1996, also has offices in Bromley and Sidcup.

The agency’s founder, Rob Tancred, has run the company for the past 29 years, and now has both his sons, Jack and Harry, working with him, along with his nephew Louis.

Rob Tancred commented: “This sale boosters our management portfolio and also the properties are in the area that we already cover which is something I have been adamant on when we was looking at different agencies to not to go too far out of town. We have also taken some staff over with us and luckily enough the systems they use all the same.”

According to Tancred, the purchase of Edmunds Lettings was primarily handled by Jack.

Jack added: “My dad said he wanted to buy Edmunds after the first meeting and I knew that meant lots more work for me and my team. It’s a nice purchase though and the company was one that I also wanted in our portfolio. We are planning to purchase [another agency] again but I think my dad wants a few months yet before we look again.”
