There has been a huge amount of fundraising taking place around our NATS sites over the last quarter, from food bank drives and toy appeals to animal shelter appeals, raffles and bake sales. It’s humbling to see and hear about the donations happening in support of good causes, at a local and national level.
Over the last three months, our employee-led efforts have achieved remarkable success, raising an impressive total of over £23,000 in charity fundraising alone, supporting a diverse range of causes. Some of the fundraising efforts NATS employees have spearheaded in the last quarter include:
- Raising over £5,800 growing moustaches and beards for Movember Europe
- Taking part in ‘Run the Runway’ to raise over £2,700 for The Beatson Cancer Support, Doing it for Daniel Foundation and Ayrshire Hospice
- Donating more than 750 toys to the Christmas toy appeals in Scotland and England
Other causes we have supported include Naomi House, Dreamflight, Sophie’s Legacy, RSPCA, Dementia UK, Save the Children, St Francis Animal Welfare and Breast Cancer Now to name just a few.
This success would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and dedication of our colleagues across the business. Their active engagement, whether through organising campaigns or generously donating, has been instrumental in making a difference to the communities we serve.
Most fundraising efforts were also supported by our internal funding initiative, the Community Fund, where employees can apply for up to £1,000 to contribute to their fundraising or voluntary work supporting good causes.
From October to December, the Community Fund:
- Supported 36 charities and community groups
- Donated to charities including Pancreatic Cancer UK, Cuan Mhurie, The Lullaby Trust and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
- Donated to community causes including Boscombe Down Aviation Collection (main image), Ythan Amateur Dramatics Association, Gosport and Fareham Youth Orchestra, Marr Rugby Club and Friends of Park Gate Primary School to name a few.
We also have around 500 colleagues who donate through our Payroll Giving scheme each month, this quarter they donated over £60,000 to more than 140 charities and causes in the UK.
So, what’s in store for the next quarter? We will be introducing office-based support to charities near our sites, rolling-out the scheme across the business. This will enable everyone at NATS to have the opportunity to contribute to local causes, while still supporting those that resonate on a personal level too.
