As the year draws to a close, we take this opportunity to celebrate the outstanding careers of two of our esteemed partners, Pete Donaldson and Mike Braun, who will be retiring at the end of December.
Pete Donaldson’s journey with DMCL began in 1985 when he co-founded Matheson Donaldson. His visionary leadership was instrumental in the firm’s growth, including establishing and shaping the culture of our Surrey office in 1991. Pete also served as a long-standing member of DMCL’s Management Advisory Board, where his insights helped guide the firm through critical strategic decisions. Additionally, Pete was a long-time IT Partner, overseeing technology advancements that supported the firm’s operations and client services. Beyond his professional achievements, Pete has been a dedicated community leader, serving as Treasurer/Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, where he helped enhance healthcare services in our community.
Mike Braun joined DMCL in 2006 through a merger with Baxter Carabetta Braun. With over 35 years of public accounting experience, Mike brought invaluable expertise to our Surrey office and played a critical role in strengthening its culture. His tenure also included serving on DMCL’s Management Advisory Board, where his leadership shaped the firm’s direction. As a long-time IT Partner, Mike spearheaded initiatives that modernized DMCL’s technological infrastructure, enabling the firm to better serve its clients. Outside of work, Mike has demonstrated a deep commitment to social responsibility as Treasurer of the Sources Foundation, supporting vital community programs across British Columbia.
Both Pete and Mike have been cornerstones of DMCL’s success, demonstrating excellence, integrity, and a commitment to community service. Their leadership has not only propelled the firm’s growth but also fostered a collaborative culture within the Surrey office, leaving a legacy of mentorship and community responsibility.
As they embark on their well-deserved retirements, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering dedication. Pete and Mike leave behind a legacy that will continue to inspire us all.
