Following a string of lovely singles on the Moderna Records imprint, Danish composer & pianist Arvid Holst has just released a new lovely new six-track EP called Fjer on the label. The title, which means ‘feather’ in English, proves quite apt for the gossamer touch he brings to this intimate, charming set.
With the longest track running scarcely over three minutes in length, Holst shows himself quite adept at framing entrancing narratives right from the first note. Each of the songs is exquisitely constructed with loving attention to detail from the bittersweet melodies and gentle brushing of the hammers to the delicately woven synth textures and ethereal voice effects. Fjer may not take long to listen to, but you will likely find it resonates for much longer.
Fjer was released on June 5, 2026, for download & streaming from Moderna Records. The album was mastered by Holst himself and features artwork by Alisa Galitsyna.
