The Durban-born rapper, whose real name is Mxolisi Sibisi and who is affectionately known as uLaQhasha iNkosi yamaQweller, shared the milestone with fans on Instagram. “Cover boyz Siyabonga @spotifyafrica kumele siymele 🔥🙏🏽,” he wrote, thanking Spotify Africa while expressing the resilience and confidence that have become synonymous with the Qwellers movement.
The latest artwork features LaCabra in his signature style, wearing a black tank top, a silver chain with his distinctive stick-figure pendant and twisted dreadlocks as he stares directly into the camera. Framed by Spotify’s bold Mzansi Raps branding, the cover places him at the forefront of one of South Africa’s most influential hip hop playlists.
For many artists, securing the Mzansi Raps cover is more than just a visual feature. The playlist has become one of Spotify Africa’s premier destinations for South African rap, spotlighting both chart-topping stars and emerging talent shaping the genre. Being selected is widely viewed as recognition of an artist’s current impact on the culture.
This is not LaCabra’s first time receiving the honour. He previously landed the cover in 2025 during the rollout of his single “Big Laqhasha Uthini,” making this latest appearance another sign of Spotify Africa’s continued support for his evolving catalogue.

Earlier this year, he released his debut album MR BULLY through Qwelfontein Entertainment, delivering a project that featured heavyweight collaborations with Nasty C and A-Reece, while also showcasing fellow Qwellers members Lowfeye, Blue Pappi and Sastii. Beyond individual success, LaCabra continues to represent the Qwellers collective, which he co-founded alongside Lowfeye in Braamfontein in 2023.
