Frenchies Oktoberfeast returns in 2026
Frenchies Bistro & Brewery is bringing back its annual Oktoberfeast celebration held at its home within The Cannery in Rosebery on Saturday, 26 September.
The day is set to be full of traditional Bavarian themed festivities including German-style beers and a feast of authentic food.
Co-Founder and Brewery Director Vincent De Soyres, is excited to welcome festivalgoers for another year, reflecting on the personal meaning of the cultural celebration.
“Being half German, Oktoberfest has been one of my favourite annual events since I was a budding brewer old enough to go in-person, and it’s such a blast transporting that electric atmosphere from Munich to Frenchies.
“We turn nine this month and apart from Covid have held our Oktoberfeast every year, so it really is a special one for us, and our festivalgoers too, with many faces returning again and again,” he told Beer & Brewer.
As per Oktoberfeast tradition, Frenchies will be pouring traditional beers brewed especially for the occasion with the final line up to be announced soon.
The event features a schedule of competitions, games and challenges including Masskrugstemmen (a stein holding challenge), a best dressed competition and more.
Thomas Cauquil, Co-Founder and Head Chef said: “There will be some new games for guests to get involved with too, which – you heard it here first – will include a barley toss challenge and German-style dance-off measured with a pedometer.”
The bistro will deliver German classics including pretzels; Flammekueche, a thin bread topped with bacon and onion; Kasespatzle, a German dish similar to mac and cheese; German sausages, sauerkraut and mustard; pork knuckle, beer gravy, coleslaw and apple sauce; and more.
“We’ll have a tasty German food menu, but you can’t go past the crispy skin pork knuckle. But don’t worry there will be snacks, mains and desserts for all tastes,” said Cauquil.
Entry to Oktoberfeast costs $29 and includes a Frenchies-branded stein, which can be used on the day, and later taken home as a keepsake.
Children under 18 are also able to attend for free alongside a responsible ticket-holding adult.
Cauquil added: “Our Oktoberfeast is a family-friendly, fun-filled day and all are very welcome.”
Tickets are on sale now with some available on the door on the day. Attendees are encouraged to secure their spot to avoid missing out.
